The show misleads you at first with the typical “village guy in the big city” routine, before barrelling down a completely different course.

Incorporating murder, blackmail and a certain sneaky element, I found the show entertaining.

The actors delivered their lines flawlessly, never breaking from character, while side plots provided endless amusement.

But it was the plot that really impressed me. Sold as “A comedy where you decide what happens next”, while the show was enjoyable and the humour was well delivered, one was left wondering whether the choice aspect was truly necessary.

With three audience “votes” taking place, the interaction was well managed and placed.

Despite this, the votes did not really affect the plot and I was left wondering why we'd even voted.

Nevertheless, Butlers and Blackmail is the way to go if you are looking for something with talented actors and a less than predictable plot.
