Three men accused of murdering a local taxi driver appeared in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court on Thursday. Phuthumile Diko, 49, Mongameli Diko, 28 and Thanduxolo Simayile, 25, appeared in connection with the murder of Bonakele Mqokeli, near Manley Flats, in August last year.

It is alleged that the victim died after an altercation with the three men and a fourth accused, Mthobeli Diko, 40, who has since died. Magistrate Marius Kotze postponed the case to 31 May and transferred it to the Grahamstown Regional Court for a provisional date to be set for trial. All accused are out on bail.
