Grahamstown's pubs and clubs are all set for one of their busiest weekends of the year as attendees at Rhodes University's graduation weekend seek out local nightspots to celebrate.

Friar Tucks Pub and Grill is the commercial dance club and vodka capital of Grahamstown. Friars is the party place for you if you like to dance to latest hits and some golden oldies that you can sing along to.

The trusty and infamous Rat and Parrot welcomes both young and old and is the pub for those who aren't looking for a place to dance. It is Grahamstown's paradise for beer-lovers with its wide range of draughts, and an ideal vibe for sport fans to watch their games, with food for the ravenous and drinks for the thirsty.

Equilibrium (better known as EQ) and Olde' 65 work more or less hand-in-hand with Olde' 65 being the pub next to EQ, the dance club. EQ is notorious for their house music and selection of external DJ's that play into the late hours.

For graduation they are living up to their reputations with a 'One Night Stand' party tonight with DJ Thulz, from Johannesburg and DJ Chilla, from Port Elizabeth.

At EQ tomorrow, Heineken is presenting a Graduation Day Party with DJ Damage from East London scratching the discs and being supported by Kato and the Maverick's.

Slipstream Sports Bar owner Mike Theron, refers to his club as the "trance capital of Grahamstown." Slipstream are getting ready to send vibrations through the floors this graduation, with tonight's line up of DJ Pulse, Ant, The Squig and Psymethyst. Known for their dub step music and drum 'n bass parties Slipstream is the small pub and club of choice for those who enjoy an alternative atmosphere.
