PJ Olivier pupils broke 11 records at their recent sports day. Ruan Pagel broke two records, the boys U17 100m and 200m events.

The previous 100m record was set in 1976, which Pagel bettered from 11.6 to the new record of 11.3. Kyle Daniels was named the senior Victor Ludorum and Dinandi Heyneke was named Victrix Ludorum senior. In the junior events, Victor Ludorum was Kelvin Warren and Victrix Ludorum was Lenè Swanepoel. The new records set during the PJ athletics day: Ruan Pagel U17 100m 11.3 (previous record 11.6, 1976) Samantha Wilmot U14 100m 12.6 (14.0, 1983) Ruan Pagel U17 200m 22.9 (23.1, 1989) Ahlumile Prence U8 80m 14.53 (14.7, 2008) Benri Niehaus U9 80m 13.59 (13.8, 2008) Simone Schoonbee U10 80m 12.87 (13.2, 2006) Amanda Nel U11 80m 12.27 (12.9, 2009) Lu-Wayne Jacobs U7 80m 15.16 (15.2, 2008) Liso Makubolo U5 80m 16.3 (19, 2006) Nakieta Heinen U9 60m 10.2 (10.3, 2006) Kelvin Warren S12 Gewigstoot 8.64 (7.46, 2005). Other awards were best field performance, won by Kelvin Warren, for his high jump of 1.2m. Ruan Pagel won the trophy for the best track performance, as well as the performance of the meeting, with his 200m record.
