Zolani Myeki, the man accused of murdering local ANC Youth League leader, Oscar Dondashe, was cross-examined by both his defence attorney Mthuthuzeli Xozwa and prosecutor, advocate Heinz Obermeyer, in the Grahamstown High Court yesterday.

Myeki who had allegedly been in possession of a semi automatic 9mm parabellum firearm from 3 to 12 July 2009, including on the morning Dondashe was murdered, said, "I usually go out to drink on weekends, but on the night of this murder I was sleeping in my room."
Myeki said that no one could support his claim that he had been sleeping when the murder took place, because he had been sleeping alone and no one had seen him. The case was postponed to tomorrow for further evidence.
ANC Youth League regional chairperson, Mabhuti Matyumza, said, "We are happy that this case is proceeding and we hope that it will conclude its business soon, because it has been going on for quite a long time." ANC Youth League Provincial Deputy, Scara Njadayi, said they were still patiently observing the case until it came to a conclusion.
