The South African Football Association Cacadu region, Nedbank Cup took place in Grahamstown, with matches held at Rhodes University King Field and JD Dlepu while the majority of the matches took place at the Military Base sports fields.
In their semi-final, Eleven Attackers were beaten 4-3 by African Juventus. Simphiwe Mralaza from Attackers, scored the first goal during the first half, but Juventus equalized after 10 minutes. The score was 1-1 at half time.
In the second half, Attackers continued to attack, and were rewarded with a second goal, this time by Asanda Dyaloyi. During the game, the Attacker's influential midfielder, Malibongwe Mbhembhe injured his right ankle. However, Attackers coach continued to use him. Juventus used this to their advantage and were rewarded with a goal. This took the full time score to 2-2.
The game then went into extra time, with Juventus scoring two quick goals, taking the score to 4-2. At this time, Attackers coach Simphiwe Faxi substituted the injured Mbhembhe. During the second half of extra time, Mazizi Nombiba scored the third goal for Attackers.
The goal motivated them and they began attacking more. Within the dying minutes of extra time, Attackers won a line out next to the Juventus corner. The line-out was taken, an Attackers striker made the shot at goal and beat the keeper, but the referee did not give the goal and the blew the final whistle.
The winners of the Nedbank Cup were Super Eagles, while African Juventus were the runners-up.
