Beshe said that (the accused) Zolani Myeki's state attorney Mthuthuzeli Xozwa was recently involved in a car accident and since he has not fully recovered, the case was posponed until 13 December.
"On this date the case could continue, or not continue, but the accused will remain in custody until then," added Beshe. After the hearing, angry ANC Youth League members and Dondashe's supporters protested outside the High Court.
Luzuko Buku, the regional chairperson of the South Africa Students Congress, said: "When we come back on 13 December, High Street should be packed with young people in support of the late Oscar Dondashe. The perpetrator should rot in jail, Oscar's death has left a void that can never be healed. We are not settling for anything either than two life sentences for the perpetrator, we were robbed of a true young revolutionary."
"Enough is enough, this crime is a kind of assassination motivated by the capitalist system of South Africa. Let's go and join the Community Policing Forum (CPF)," said the Young Communist League's regional chairperson, Khotso Moleli.
ANCYL's Provincial Deputy Secretary said: "He had been studying all the movements of Oscar, he had the desire and saw an opportunity to murder him. We won't be tired, we won't be exhausted, we will continue to come in numbers to support the sentencing."
