Engine thief arrested

On Thursday morning, a man was arrested for general theft. The complainant, who lives in S Street, found his car engine at a scrap yard after some investigation of his own. He then talked to the scrapyard owner, who assisted him with details of the seller. He then contacted the police, from where the seller was tracked down and arrested. He will appear in court shortly.

Crooked scrap metal employee nabbed

A man who works at a scrap metal dealership was arrested on Wednesday morning after he accepted stolen goods. This happened after copper pipes worth R2500 were stolen from a construction company between 12 and 13 October. The owner of the construction company reported to the police that he found the copper pipes at the scrap yard, from where the employee was arrested.
