Swallows kept their top spot on the Eastern province Rugby Union Super League, Wellman Harmse log  when they beat St Marks 38-10. This was the last league match of season and Swallows will now head off to the play-offs. If they win all their play-offs, Swallows will then advance in the Super League.

The match fixtures for the playoffs are still to be finalised. In their match against St Marks, Swallows drew first blood through a try scored by Brian Goliath and converted by Luvane Daniels.

The next points came shortly before halftime when Revane Fillis scored an unconverted try for Swallows to take a 12-0 lead. In the second half, Fillis sliced through the St Marks defence to score, and Daniels converted to make it 19-0.

St Marks replied with a penalty before it was Fillis again who scored for Swallows and stretching the lead to 24-3.

Bruce Goliath stretched the gap even further when he scored from a run which began in the Swallows half. St Mark’s then scored their first try though a pushover making it 31-10 to Swallows.

Swallows had the last say when, in the dying minutes of the game, Daniels broke from the halfway line and offloaded to Hilton Fillis who scored and giving Swallows a 38-10 win.

Swallows coach, Phillip Oerson said his side missed a number of  scoring opportunities which could have given them a bigger winning margin.

Oerson said the standout players for Swallows were Alfonso Williams, Jacko Buys, Rodney Goba and Ray Francis. In other matches, Swallows 1st reserves beat St Marks 28-0, while the Swallows 2nds beat St Marks 28-0.
