hosted at Kingswood College on Saturday.

St Andrew’s College were the overall winners of the Boys’ Quadrangular Athletics Meeting which was
hosted at Kingswood College on Saturday.


The meeting is 88 years old and is a relay competition that is always fiercely contested between St Andrew’s, Kingswood, Graeme College and Grey High School in Port Elizabeth.

The meeting as once again nail-biting, with St Andrew’s athletes showing exceptional determination and spirit, winning the event by four points.

St Andrew’s won with 44 points, followed by Grey (40), Kingswood (33) and Graeme (14). The St Andrew’s teams achieved first places in the 4x100m hurdles, javelin, 4x100m, 1 600 medley, high jump, 4x400m, 3 000m, 4x200m.

The three Grahamstown schools will send their top athletes to compete in the Hirsch Shield tomorrow (Friday), where they will face athletes from other schools across the Eastern Province.

The event is made up of the Hirsch Shield (U19), SF Edward Shield (U16), and the Sammy Gunn Shield (U14), and will be hosted at Grey High from 9.30am.
