Grahamstown Bowling Club (GBC) are the current log leaders in the Eastern Areas Bowling Association men’s first league. Round four of the league was hosted by the GBC on Sunday and they kept their lead on the log by beating the Kenton team.

The league consists of both A and B sides and the scores are combined in each league. The GBC side is made up of Stan Long, Phillip McDougall, Craig Langson and Kenneth May (in the A side) and Basil Du Randt, Malcolm Grant, Mike Howis and Richard Poole in the B side.

In Sunday’s games, the GBC A side beat Kenton A 26-7 and then beat Kenton B 20-18. GBC B side beat Kenton B 20-12 and then beat Kenton A 29-9.

GBC are top of the log with 170 points, and are followed by Port Alfred Bowling Club in second spot with 141. Albany Bowling Club are in fifth spot with 68.5 points.

Albany A beat Port Alfred A 21-19, but then lost to Port Alfred B 8-22. Albany B lost to Port Alfred B 16-20 and lost to Port Alfred A 14-30.

The final round, which takes place on 21 November at Kenton Bowling Club, sees Grahamstown playing Port Alfred for the championship. Kenton Bowling Club are log leaders in the second league,with GBC in fourth spot.
