Swallows centre Brian Goliath was the first player to score for Luvane Daniels to convert, giving their side an early 10-0 lead.

Rosebuds replied with two tries with Swallows taking a backseat at 7-12 behind. It was Swallows who then upped the pace with a penalty, which was then followed by a try through winger Wayne Max after centre Lesley Jack burst through the Rosebuds defence.

Shortly before halftime, Daniels succeeded with a long range drop goal for Swallows to take an 18-12 lead at the break.

From the second half whistle, Rosebuds attached from all angles which resulted in two quick tries, for Swallows to fall behind at 18-26.

Swallows substitute winger Rodney Goba scored before Rosebuds put over a penalty kick and Swallows lagged behind at 23-29.

Desperate for a try to save the match for Swallows, Daniels sliced through the Rosebuds backline for a 35 metre dash to score and convert his own try, giving Swallows a 30-29 win. In other matches, the Swallows 1 st reserves beat Rosebuds 24-11, and the Swallows beat Rosebuds 28-0.
