The second round of the Makana U15 Football League got under way at JD Dlepu Stadium over the  weekend. The young players reopened the league on top form, reaching a total of 41 goals in 12 matches over a single weekend.

On Saturday Young Killers, the log leaders and recent tournament winners, walloped New Town City by 10 goals to nil.

On Sunday Killers were once again called to take to the field, this time against the boys in red  United Fighters  who were recovering from a 1-0 loss against Mighty Chiefs on Saturday.

In the sixth minute of the match, from a run down the right flank, Killers beat the Fighters defence to score an opener.

Killers were dominating most of the ball possession as Fighters kept on losing the ball. In the 18th minute Killers came back to score their second goal.

Two minutes later Fighters found themselves in front of goals, but lack of communication cost them a goal. In the 24th minute Killers netted a third goal going into half time from a corner kick.

In the second half whenever Fighters would come close to the Killers’ goal area, the defence would clear the danger.

Killers killed Fighters by an additional four goals in the second half, making the final score Young Killers 7-0 United Fighters.

Killers still retain a strong leading position in the league, with an extensive amount of goals already in the season.
