Grahamstown police are investigating charges of reckless and negligent driving after two cars collided in Raglan Road and left several passengers seriously injured.

The accident happened near Fikizolo Primary School on Sunday evening when a white Toyota Corolla failed to stop at an intersection and collided with a black Golf Tenaciti 1.4i.
According to eyewitnesses, the Corolla was travelling on the dirt road from Vukani which joins up with Raglan Road.
Police spokesperson captain Mali Govender confirmed the accident but said no one has been arrested yet as an investigation is still underway to determine which driver was in the wrong.
She said that after the investigation has been concluded a docket will be sent to the Directorof Public Prosecutions for a decision.
Govender added that a number of people were injured during the accident and were taken to hospital for treatment, but did not say how many.
She refused to give the names of the drivers. Attempts to obtain comment from the hospital was unsuccesful as the hospital manager was not available for comment.
The severely-damaged vehicles were towed away to the Auto Clinic compound in Beaufort Street were they are still being kept.
The Corolla’s front bonnet and windscreen are damaged beyond repair, while the Golf is missing its entire left side.
Auto Clinic owner Arnold Jattiem confirmed that the vehicles were towed away from the Raglan Road accident which took place on Sunday evening.
“I don’t know who the owners of the vehicles are, because no one has been here to pay [for towing expenses]yet,” added Jattiem.
Eyewitnesses said that paramedics had to use the jaws of life to remove passengers with broken limbs from the back seat of the Golf.
They added that two visibly drunk men were in the Corolla and that the Golf had about four passengers in it, including a woman.
