The new Face of Garnier is that of a woman from eDutywa near Mthatha in the Eastern Cape: Zizo Beda. This South African celebrity becomes the first in her province and the fourth in South Africa to represent the international cosmetics house.

Beda says she is pleased that her agency, Interface Talent Management, submitted her profile to the company and was utterly thrilled that Garnier chose her.

When asked how she feels about having photos of her face splashed all over the country and possibly the world, she says she hopes it helps someone, somewhere, aspire to realising their dreams.

As one of South Africa’s young role models she feels that pursuing education is essential. She understands that people’s paths in life are  different but emphasises that all girls need to pursue their dreams in order to make it in life.

Beda’s success story can be traced back to when she entered the Miss South African Teen competition in 2006 and won.

Then she became known as the girl from the SABC  show Selimathunzi which is an entertainment, lifestyle show that looks at the life of socialites and the most happening parties all over South Africa.

The Mthatha born Beda says she owes her success to her no-nonsense parents for keeping her grounded and the ever supportive community she grew up in for making her childhood fun and easy.

Now a woman of the world, she continues to stay updated on the in’s and outs of the media world as she is studying journalism at Unisa.

The ever humble Beda hopes that her 12 months with Garnier will go well as she will be promoting their products and telling people why and how they can use the extensive range of cosmetics and haircare products.
