Also on 31 points but in second place due to a lower goal difference is Mighty Chiefs who have also won 10 of their matches.

The first round of the league ended over the past weekend, with a total of ten matches been played. Young Killers showed that they intend keeping the number one position, as they went on to score 14 goals in there two matches over the past weekend.

Organised by the Department of Sport, Recreation,  Arts and Culture and the Makana Local Football Association (LFA) and supported by Makana Municipality,the programme aims at growing the sport of soccer in Grahamstown.

Anga Ngcebetsha, organiser of the U15 league said he has been impressed with the level of play so far, adding that a number of talented players have already been identified.

While the second round of the league gets under way towards the end of July,  Ngcebetsha said two events will be held for the U15 players leading up to then.

Ngcebetsha said an U15 Cacadu tournament will take place next weekend (10 and 11 July). Six teams representing other LFA sides with come up against two Makana teams in the tournament.

The two Makana teams will be made up of players from the U15 league, chosen by selectors watches  the various games.

Each Makana side will be made up of 18 players, which have already begun training together at the JD Dlepu Stadium.

After the Cacadu tournament, Ngsebetsha said they plan to hold a Makana competition for the various U15 teams.
