Eastern Cape Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the three high profile murders committed late last year.

The first murder was of a Port Alfred businessman Andrew Reynolds who was found brutally murdered on a farm last year.

Reynolds’ boat building company was on the verge of being dissolved when he was murdered. Police found a hunting rifle which was taken for ballistics tests in Port Elizabeth.

Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said: “The results [from the ballistics test]are part of the investigation and will only be released in court. The case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made.”

The second murder occured near Grahamstown where a police woman and mother of three, Chunyiswa Zamani, was shot and killed near her vehicle.

Govender confirmed that no arrests have been made in this case either. Former mayor of Alexandria Thembile Bethe was shot and killed in December last year in front of his house.

The case is being investigated by the Organised Crime Unit in East London. Numerous attempts to contact their communications officers were unsuccessful. However, according to information from reliable sources, the police have made no arrests.
