Director Lara Bye has been described by one reviewer as “everything she touches turns to gold.” Her latest production, London Road, tells the story of a white Jewish woman and a Nigerian woman who are complete strangers but create a friendship under some tough circumstances.

“It’s been an incredible journey so far for this gentle, human story and we can’t wait to share it with Grahamstown audiences,” said Bye in a press release.

The story is written by Nicolas Spagnoletti, who has earned some incredible reviews. Theproduction has also been widely praised with The Sunday Independent calling it “simply brilliant” while the Sunday Times wrote “The humour is gentle, the drama and pathos understated [and is]brought to life by two formidable stage talents.”

Robyn Scott and Nthombi Makhutshi share the stage as the only two performers onstage in this moving, funny, unforgettable play. London Road will show from 20 to 27 June and 29 June to 4 July at 12pm daily at the Princess Alice Hall.
