Kingswood College hosted Hudson Park this weekend in various rugby matches. In the 1st XV rugby match Kingswood ran out 15–5 winners in an entertaining match.

Kingswood dominated possession and territory  throughout the game with their forwards setting up good attacking platforms and the backs running good angles of attack.

Kingswood opened the scoring when flyhalf Steve Hansel swept blind after a great build up of pressure and shrugging off two tackles, scored in the corner.

The score line was extended when fullback, Scott van Breda cut the line from a well-worked set piece and centre Chris Keets finished to bring the half time score to 10–0.

In the second half, Kingswood continued to deny the dangerous Hudson Park backs possession and continued to apply pressure through strong forward drives and hard running from their backs.

Hansel picked up his second try of the match when he cut inside after a good build up of phases. Tenacious tryline defence from the visitors in the last ten minutes prevented Kingswood from adding to their tally and with a minute to go, Hudson were rewarded for their persistence with they intercepted a loose pass on the halfway line and outstripped the cover defence to score.
