On a hot Monday morning the Hospice director took a big bag of jewellery into Andronniki’s to have them checked to see if there were any valuable items in the bag.

Lying in among all the costume jewellery and hidden in grime were some absolute gems. Barker likes to think that the donors knew the value and wishes to thank them for their extreme generosity.

The jewellery will be sold by Dave Mullins auction at 10.30am on Saturday 1 May. Items can be viewed in advance at the Drill Hall on the Friday afternoon before the auction.
