The last matches of the Makana Local Football Association (LFA) League got under way at JD Dlepu Stadium this past weekend.

According to officials, the teams were expected to perform to their best as this was their last shot at the 2009/10 league.

The league winners were to be announced earlier this week, but due to unconfirmed results there has been a slight delay.

Makana LFA vice president, Chris Totobela said the 2009/10 Makana league winners will announced shortly. Golden Stars vs Chelsea Thabiso Mafeni scored a brace making it 2–0 for Stars and Libone Rhasane netted the third separating the two sides by three goals.

In the second half, Chelsea’s Siyabonga Titi put one in for his side, bringing the final score to 3–1. Stars goalkeeper got a red card after disobeying football regulations on the field.

This marks the third red card for Stars in three days as they had two in their mid-week game. Cameroon vs Mighty Chiefs In the early  minutes of the match, the winds seemed to be getting the better of the player’s ball control, as neither teams could sustain ball possession.

Twenty minutes into the game, an attempt at goal by the attacking Cameroon unluckily hit the crossbar. Nevertheless, two minutes later Luvuyo Habana’s chip over Chiefs goalie made it 1–0 for Cameroon.

Chiefs hardly had any threatening attack going forward. The Ngqokoma pair Masixole and Zandisile “Scara” added a goal each to their names making it 3 Cameroon and 0 Mighty Chiefs.

Young Stars vs Santos Goals by Siyabulela Diniso, Anele “Chizboy” Solomon (2) and Siphamandla Mdilithwane for Santos (four in total), while Yakhuxolo Mazinyo scored one goal for Stars.

Joza Callies vs Newtown City Bongani Spopo was the danger man for Callies, the illusive Spopo capitalised in the first half as he netted two goals for Callies’ 3–1 victory.

Mfuneko Khongwana scored the only goal for the Newtown boys. Cameroon vs Golden Stars After winning against Chelsea, Stars were looking to maintain the  performance.

But the strong force of Cameroon gave them no chance as the strike force kept asking questions at Stars. From a sloppy goalkeeping and shaky defence by Stars, Cameroon netted 7 goals to zero.

The ever – striking Zandisile ‘Scara’ Ngqokoma contributed three goals to the massive 7–0 victory, bringing a
victorious end of season for Cameroon, as they see themselves in unofficial third position on the log. Ngqokoma scored a total of four goals in two matches.
