As the official broadcaster of the Fifa World Cup, SABC invites fellow South Africans to write a song in support of Bafana Bafana.

All SABC platforms (both radio and television) have committed to supporting this initiative. A radio promo will direct listeners to SMS the word Bafana to 34022 and a return message will provide details of how to enter the competition (the process of recording your song).

All entries will be evaluated by a credible panel of music compilers and music managers from different SABC radio stations and TV channels, to narrow down the entries to five finalists.

These five songs will be played and rotated equally on all the music playing SABC radio stations as well as on suitable television programmes.

Listeners and viewers will be requested to vote for their favorite song to become the official song for Bafana during the Fifa 2010 World Cup and beyond. Entries opened on 2 March and close at midnight on 2 April.
