What’s your greatest ambition in life?
To do everything that I do as well as I can.

How does Grahamstown rock for you?
Some of the best people I know are friends whom I’ve met in Grahamstown.

If there was one thing that you could change about Grahamstown,what would it be?

The drinking water.

If you could be mayor for a day what would you do?
Fine everyone who doesn’t separate their recycling into clear or orange bags.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?
When I was playing in the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra I was once so late for an opera performance that I missed the whole of the first act!

I was watching Harry Potter and lost track of time. I walked out of the movie and looked at my watch and realised what I’d done. I told the management my car had broken down. I hope none of them will
ever read this!

What are you reading at the moment?
Texts from my PGCE course about how to teach music, and the state of South African education. I am craving a novel!
Who are your top three dinner guests?
American singer/songwriter Trent Reznor and authors Tom Robbins and Paulo Coelho.
 

What’s your favourite recipe?
Spaghetti bolognaise.

What is your favourite cd?

Lacos Lences playing oboe concertos by Haydn, Hummel and Martinu.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you take with you?
Sunglasses, Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude and a journal.

If you could come back as a cartoon character who would you be?
Tigger from Winnie-the-Pooh.
