A 60-year-old man was found dead and brutally mutilated near his home in L Street on Friday morning. Alfred “Dashman” Ntantiso was discovered by passersby naked and lying on his back. His genitals and chunks of flesh in his left thigh were missing.

There were also deep wounds and missing flesh on his left shoulder and his thigh bone was exposed.
An eyewitness who was walking along L Street to work called Ntantiso’s family to the scene.

Ntantiso’s sister-in-law Phumla Sithole said she had not heard any noise the previous night and was severely
shaken when someone told her the news.

“I could not believe it, I was so shocked when my neighbour woke me up that morning. I only took a glimpse of him and turned back, it was too horrific.

” Ntantiso’s pants and shirt were found near her gate. “People say it could have been dogs, if that is true then it’s fine but we would like to know what or who did this.

He was a kind man. His brother is a very sickly man, it was hard for me to tell him that his brother had been killed,” added the visiby bereft Sithole.

She added that she had not heard any commotion the previous night and it came as a surprise to all
the tenants living in her house.

“He has a high pitched voice, if he had cried everyone would have heard his screams. It it were dogs, they
would have barked,” she said. When Grocott’s Mail visited the scene of the crime there was soil covering the areas where Ntantiso’s blood had been spilt.

One of the first people on the scene was Joza resident Nombulelo Maneli who said there were marks near that gate showing that there had been some sort of struggle.

Police spokesperson, Constable Phumlani Wayi said that Ntantiso’s body has been taken to Port Elizabeth
for a postmortem where the procedure will be performed today.
