The 11th annual Grahamstown Schools Cricket Festival will take place from 7 to 9 January 2010, with school’s descending on Grahamstown from all across the country.

The 11th annual Grahamstown Schools Cricket Festival will take place from 7 to 9 January 2010, with school’s descending on Grahamstown from all across the country.

This year’s event has seen Pam Golding Properties climb on board as the main event sponsors. Twelve schools will take part in the festival, which is being hosted by St Andrew’s College, which along with Graeme College and Kingswood College forms part of the orginising team.

Carl Bradfield, director of cricket at St Andrew’s said the festival is a great opportunity for the schools 1st cricket teams to kick start the season, adding that this will also be the first time many of the 1st teams have played as a new unit.

Paul Edey, St Andrew’s College headmaster, said the festival “has become an important opportunity for all our teams to sharpen their skills ahead of the new season and a wonderful meeting place for players, coaches and managers”.

Edey said festivals are all about sportsmanship and camaraderie “and I am sure that we are going to witness such during this one”.

Thursday 7 January:
St Andrew’s College vs St Andrew’s School (St Andrew’s Lower Field)
Graeme College vs Dale (Graeme Somerset)
Kingswood College vs Wynberg BHS (Kingswood Gane)
Hudson Park HS vs St Alban’s College (St Andrew’s Knowling)
Grahamstown Rural vs. Trinityhouse (St Andrew’s St Aidan’s)
Cambridge HS vs St Dominic’s Priory (Kingswood Knight)
Friday 8 January:
St Andrew’s College vs Wynberg BHS (Lower Field)
Graeme College vs St Andrew’s School (Somerset)
Kingswood College vs St Alban’s College (Gane)
Dale College vs Trinityhouse (Knowling)
