Another year has passed and another festive season is upon us! To bring that spark of something interesting to the usual proceedings is Ubom! Eastern Cape Drama Company’s Christmas show: Bhuti, the Bokkie and the Christmas Beetle.
Hijinks and rollicking fun abounds as the kooky crew comes together on stage to entertain you. Bhuti is a little boy who loves his best friend Bokkie and will do anything for him. So when Bruella the baddie tries to come between them they must fight for their friendship. With an endearing cast of the cutest young talent Grahamstown has to offer teamed with the charming Ubom! faces we know and love, you cannot miss this jolly gem of a show.
Directed by Cassandra Hendricks the show has been designed by the inimitable Andrew Buckland and Dylan McGarry, the director of the Arkwork Collective. Bhuti, the Bokkie and the Christmas Beetle can be caught at the Rhodes Theatre for a grand opening evening of the Umbhiyozo – Everything Christmas! event -together with the Grahamstown Foundation- that will rock the end of the year. Diarise Thursday, 19 November at 6pm for a not-to-be-missed event and get your ticket now to ensure your seat.
Don’t despair if you can’t make the Umbhiyozo event; you can still catch Bhuti and Bokkie having loads of fun on: Friday, 20 November at 4pm and 6pm and Saturday, 21 November at 6pm.Tickets cost R10 for children and R15 for adults.
