Renault South Africa recently commissioned Malcolm Kinsey to compare parts pricing on two of the latest additions to its stable with competitor makes and models within their respective market segments: the made-in-SA Sandero 1.4 litre Authentique hatchback and the imported Logan 1.6 litre sedan.

Kinsey’s MRK Publications provided the parts pricing on competitor vehicles while Renault provided the parts pricing on its two models.

Logan and Sandero were launched in November 2008 and March 2009 respectively so neither model had participated in Kinsey’s previous annual parts survey.

Published last October, it is regarded by South Africa’s car industry to be the definitive study on parts pricing.

The results of this latest survey conclusively reveal that Renault is delivering on its promise of service, quality and affordable cost of ownership.

Of the six cars surveyed, the Sandero 1.4 ranked second overall. Coming in almost 50% cheaper than the most expensive competitor model, the Toyota Yaris T1, Sandero lost out to the VW Citi Golf 1.4.
