On Tuesday afternoon a motorcyclist collided with a Corsa bakkie at the Hill Street and Beaufort Street intersection. The motorcyclist, travelling along Hill Street, collided with the bakkie, which was turning right from Hill Street into Beaufort Street.

Ruben Klue heard the collision from behind the wall of a property nearby. "I was standing inside just behind the wall and when I heard the bang, I came out and the bakkie stopped here next to me and he [the motorcyclist]was lying in the middle of the road, still trying to get up. The driver jumped out and ran over and tried to help him."

Police officers, traffic officials and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. The motorcyclist was stabilised and then taken to Settlers Private Hospital where, it is believed, he received stitches and was later discharged.
