    Salem win Tennisb league

    The Bathurst and Districts league ended with the last of the matches played at the various tennis clubs.

    Salem Tennis Club finished top of the A league with 112 points, followed by Blaaukrantz with 109.5 points. Southwell finished third on 96 points.

    Salem Tennis Club finished top of the A league with 112 points, followed by Blaaukrantz with 109.5 points. Southwell finished third on 96 points.

    In the B league, Coombs won section 1 with 93.5 points, while Sidbury won the B league, section 2 with 76.5 points. Shaw Park won the C league.

    The Bathurst and Districts Championships began over the past weekend, with all three leagues in action.  The championships finals will be played at the Grahamstown Tennis Club on Saturday, 29 August starting at 8.30am.

    All league results A league – Salem 112 points, Blaaukrantz 109.5, Southwell 96, Kenton 91, Sevenfountains 78.5, Clumber 77.5, Shaw Park 67, Grahamstown 40.5.
    B League, section 1 – Coombs 93.5 points, Shaw Park 86, Port Alfred 84.5, Kenton 74, Clumber 68.
    B league, section 2 – Sidbury 76.5 points, Blaaukrantz 65.5, Grahamstown 38.5, Southwell 37.5.
    C league – Shaw Park 164 points, Port Alfred 154.5, Clumber 121, Sevenfountains 121, Grahamstown 120.5, Salem 115.5, Kenton 81.5, Coombs 74.5, Sidbury 64.5, Southwell 52.
