Zolani "Nziki" Myeki (35), who has been accused of the murder of Oscar Dondashe, appeared briefly in the Grahamstown Magistrate Court on Friday.
Dondashe, an ANC Youth League regional secretary, was allegedly shot, killed and robbed by Myeki on the morning of 12 July in V Street on his way home from the Tantyi tavern.

Dondashe, an ANC Youth League regional secretary, was allegedly shot, killed and robbed by Myeki on the morning of 12 July in V Street on his way home from the Tantyi tavern.
In a crowded courtroom, Myeki looked relaxed as the magistrate postponed the case for further investigation. He is facing charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and possession of dagga.
Outside the court, ANC members protested waving placards reading:"We demand justice now."
The ANC Youth League regional chairperson, Scara Njadayi, addressed the protesters, saying: "We will follow the case to the end to ensure that justice takes its course. We are angry that the perpetrator has not been given a chance to plead."
The ANC Ward 7 chairperson, Manise Bambiso, said they want the case to start as soon as possible and that they are not happy with the postponements. He further stated that the regional ANC branch will organise a march when the accused appears in court again.
"We intend to make this case an example to mobilise the youth against crime in an attempt to root out crime and reclaim the streets from criminals," Bambiso said.
Nomphelo Dondashe, the younger sister to Oscar Dondashe, said the family wants to see justice done and that the accused pays for his crime.
The case was postponed to 20 October and the suspect will remain in custody until then.
