Christie van Rooyen Independent Vehicle Consultants opened its doors in Grahamstown this month, offering his customers a wide variety of vehicles including quadbikes and motorbikes, and says he will be able to find his customers whatever they are looking for.

Van Rooyen is a former salesman at JW Auto in Grahamstown and felt the need to go on his own as “I can now offer a bigger variety of stock to customers and get the best price possible for their trade in”. He has settled in Grahamstown and will be operating his business from his home.
While van Rooyen has a few vehicles, quads and motorbikes in stock, as an independent vehicle consultant, he also gets stock from car dealers in and around Grahamstown, as well as a few contacts he has in Pretoria.
Locals may remember when he took part in many stock car racing events held behind Fort England Hospital around 20 years ago. Van Rooyen raced in a Ford Capri and said while the aim of the stock cars was to finish the laps first, if another vehicle was in your way, “you would just take him out”.
After leaving Grahamstown, Van Rooyen went on to finish second in the SA stock car racing champs held in Port Elizabeth in 1998 while he was living in Cradock.The former stock racer is a current member of the Somerset East-based Bosberg motorbike club.
