UPDATE (11:04): Workers have returned to their jobs at Pick ‘n Pay following an initial negotiation with management.

SACCAWU organiser, Rocky Kolweni, was involved in the negotiations and told us there will be further negotiations with management. Both management and workers witheld comment at this point.

UPDATE (10:38AM): There is a meeting being held between workers and Pick ‘n Pay management near the news stand and the protest seems to have calmed down.

Breaking news (10:20AM): Pick n’ Pay workers are staging a go-slow in Peppergrove Mall today, reportedly in protest over a wage increase dispute with management.

What we know right now is that some workers are operating the tills very slowly and we have received some reports that there is an open protest within the store. Our reporters are at the mall and we will be updating this story as we get more information.
