Grocott’s Mail prides itself on its long history of gathering and producing news and information that matters to the people of Grahamstown. Through the weekly print edition and regular updates on our website and social media platforms, we aim not only to provide our readers with great content but also to be the heart and soul of Grahamstown by providing a vibrant space for conversation and engagement.
You can help us to continue to play this vital role.
We’re a small team operating on a lean budget in a challenging media environment. In 2003, Rhodes University bought the newspaper to set up the David Rabkin Project for Experiential Journalism Training. Rhodes University is the sole shareholder of this Limited Liability company and any profits made go to student bursaries at the university. The broad objective of the initiative is to ensure the growth and vibrancy of Grocott’s Mail and to use it as a vehicle for the teaching experience in the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes.
If you would like to make a financial contribution to help ensure that Grocott’s Mail can continue to serve the people of Grahamstown for many years to come, please follow this link, select GENERAL under ‘Project’, and mention Grocott’s Mail in the ‘Comments’ box. Thank you!
