Rhodes University Archery Club member, Yashin Naidoo has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships being held in Rosario, Argentina from 2 to 8 October. “I am very excited to be going to the Youth World Championships, however, I see it as more of a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal, which is to compete in the Olympic Games,” said Yashin. The South African Team has nine members comprising six compound archers and three recurve archers. The 2017 Fish River Canoe Marathon takes place from Grassridge Dam to Cradock Sports Complex on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 October. With 21 500 entries received in just 21 days, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has officially closed the 2018 Comrades Marathon entry process. CMA Race Director, Rowyn James says, “This applies to both online and manual entries. We have reached the cap of 21 500 and cannot accept any more entries. All entries received up until 4.30pm at Comrades House on Thursday, 21 September will still be accepted and are currently being processed, including those postal entries that are postmarked 21 September 2017 or earlier. SA Rugby will present its bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup to the World Rugby Council in London on Monday, September 25. The three countries in the running to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup are South Africa, Ireland and France. Each will present its bid to Council Monday after which each will host a media conference.
