A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a break-in at a Port Alfred hotel early on Friday morning. The boy had allegedly broken into the room of a Johannesburg couple.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a break-in at a Port Alfred hotel early on Friday morning. The boy had allegedly broken into the room of a Johannesburg couple.
"The suspect had gained entry through a sliding door and stole two iPhones, a wrist watch valued at R68 000, a wallet containing cash as well as a carry bag," said SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula in a statement.
When the couple woke up around 3am, they noticed that some of their belongings were missing and immediately called the police.
"Using a tracker in the couple’s laptop, Warrant Officer LS Funde located the suspect and arrested him and confiscated the goods around 5am," the statement read.
He is being detained at the Port Alfred police station and was expected to appear in court yesterday. No further information was available at the time of going to print.
