Touch – The Springboks are about to touch down in New Zealand, where they will be defending the Rugby World Cup they won in France in 2007. Grocott’s Mail is passionately behind our national team and we will be shouting for the Bokke all the way.
If you don’t believe us, take a look at the picture on Page 15.
We are also keen to help our readers keep in touch with the games, because we don’t want you to miss a single one. Grocott’s Mail is publishing a special supplement on the rugby tournament a week ahead of time, so that our faithful readers will have enough time to study the schedules and plan their viewing. We put a full schedule of the tournament on our centre spread so you can stick it on to your fridge and write in the score after every match.

Pause – It’s that awkward week just before the tournament begins. All the players, except for the New Zealanders of course, will be trying to get over their jet lag. They will have last-minute strategy chats, will probably look at videos of previous matches and try to find weak spots in their opponents’ line-ups.
It’s also the time when sports writers and commentators try to prove their worth by analysing team selections, the merits of the coaches, the fitness levels of the pack and, of course predicting the outcome of each match, as well as the winner of the tournament.
Engage – This is what we do when we discuss rugby tactics with each other and when we scream support for our respective teams.
The Springboks will be engaging in a series of matches, and we are certain that the spectacle of the Rugby World Cup will be engaging – no – riveting, for all viewers.
We invite readers to send in photographs of themselves and their friends showing us how they are supporting the Bokke and we will be happy to publish as many of them as we can.
We also welcome your messages of support for our team, and if you really insist, we might even publish a message or two supporting those other teams.
