Our very own South African Welterweight champion Mzoxolo “Black Tiger ” Ndwayana is hard at training keeping himself fit. Bokoloshe as he is widely known in the township is keeping fit despite the cancellation of his scheduled bouts due to Covid – 19 pandemic. The first one was going to take place on 28 March with the big one scheduled for 24 April in Johannesburg, where he was going to defend his South African crown.
Speaking to Grocott’s Mail Ndwayana expressed his disappointment and said “I have worked very hard at training for these bouts and was looking forward to go back into the ring again but there is nothing I can do as the country is facing a crisis at the moment. I will continue to use every chance I get to keep fit so that I am ready whenever the new dates have been announced.”
He is itching to get back into action after that disappointing trip to the UKĀ but he will have to wait a little bit longer before exchanging leather again in defence of his tittle.
Ndwayana also appealed to the business community to help him with some much needed items to help him progress in the sport he admires most. He needs a full tracksuit to keep him warm during winter as he will be training in the mornings and late afternoons. He also needs at least two pairs of running shoes, as his wear out quickly due to his heavy training regime. He will also appreciate any donation of healthy food to help him with his strict diet that he has to stick to ahead of his fights.
He and his supporters are hoping a good Samaritan will come forward and help him realise his dream of becoming world champion.
