On the 11 February 2017 the Makana Aerobics and Fitness Club (MAFC) commemorated the former president of South Africa Dr Nelson Mandela release from prison through sport under a theme "Free Mandela Aerobics Marathon".

MAFC celebrated this day through health and fitness programs for 3 hours starting at 8h00.

This event attracted interest from nearby community members that were supporting and ulilating while coaches were taking participants through their paces.

The MAFC Executive believes that the event was a success as some of the people have now joined the clubs training ground as full members at Extension 6 Indoor Sports Centre Monday to Thursday 6 to 7pm.

We are grateful by the Community support and our key partners Makana Municipality and Department of Arts, Recreation, Arts and Culture.

The club invites all to join us in healthy lifestyle. According to Akhona Ngcauzele from Makana aerobics and fitness club.
