Blitzbok star and old Kingswoodian Rosko Specman has hailed his former school's 2016 first XV, congratulating the players on Saturday's 34-22 K-Day triumph over St. Andrew's and tipping them to have big rugby careers if they wish.
Blitzbok star and old Kingswoodian Rosko Specman has hailed his former school's 2016 first XV, congratulating the players on Saturday's 34-22 K-Day triumph over St. Andrew's and tipping them to have big rugby careers if they wish.
“I'm immensely proud of Kingswood’s win on K-day and so sad that I missed it. I would have loved to be there in person,” said Specman, who played in Kingswood's first team in 2008.
“[On] my last visit to Kingswood, I witnessed so much talent! It's unreal. Those boys have so much passion and skill.”
“A big congratulations to the team and coaching staff. You have made all old learners very proud!”
“I'm sure those who choose to pursue a career in rugby will reach great heights. Kingswood has a long history of talented professional players.”
Specman has been in impressive form since being brought back into the fold for the Cape Town Sevens (12-13 December). His highest point came after the Wellington Sevens (30-31 January), when he was named player of the tournament.
On 17 June, he was selected in the Blitzboks' training squad for August's Olympic games in Rio, along with old Andrean Ryan Kankowski.
