Eastern Province Cricket Coach Development, in partnership with Warwick Wealth, hosted a ‘Night with the Franchise Coaches’ on the eve of the Ram Slam T20 double header at St Georges Park (27 November 2015).
The three Franchise coaches Rob Walter (Unlimited Titans), Nicky Boje (VKB Knights), Allan Donald (VKB Knights consultant) Grant Morgan (Warriors Assistant coach), and Malibongwe Maketa (Warriors) together with their captains, Colin Ingram, Werner Coetsee and Albie Morkel fielded a variety of questions from the knowledgeable audience in attendance.
Eastern Province Coaching Manager Christo Esau said after the event: “Eastern Province Cricket takes coach development seriously and having events like a night with the franchise coaches is very important in terms of growing the knowledge of our coaches. We cannot do this alone and we thank Warwick Wealth for their investment in our future coaches.”
Esau also said that the work being done behind the scenes to ensure events like these happen is immense. “We have hosted quite a number of events now and there are still more in the pipeline. I am very happy with the hard work that the team is putting in to ensure that we educate our coaches so that they may produce quality players for Eastern Province, the Warriors and eventually the Proteas. I would like to thank the franchise coaches and captains for availing their time to come and talk cricket with our coaches.”
