    Next lights-out at lunchtime tomorrow

    Eskom is currently in Stage 2 load-shedding according to the utility's website. The website says this is due to high demand or urgent maintenance being performed at certain power stations.

    Eskom is currently in Stage 2 load-shedding according to the utility's website. The website says this is due to high demand or urgent maintenance being performed at certain power stations.

    According to the Stage 2 load-shedding schedule for Grahamstown this means electricity shut-downs may occur here tomorrow, Tuesday 9 December and Wednesday, from midday to 2.30pm; Thursday and Friday 6pm to 8.30pm; Saturday 6am to 8.30am and Sunday 6am to 8.30am.

    Eskom Chief Executive Tshediso Matona is currently conducting a media briefing at Megawatt Park, Sunninghill, where he is giving an update on the state of the power system following recent load shedding.

    He is also scheduled to share a forecast for the festive season, according to an Eskom media release.
