Graeme College second rugby team defeated Portsmouth Grammar School by 36 points to 24 at Somerset Field yesterday.
The team acquitted themselves reasonably well against the visiting side.

For the first few minutes, play was concentrated on the Graeme half as the visitors applied pressure. The first try, however, came from Graeme winger Jono Nunn who made a brilliant solo run from his side of the field to dot under the poles 12 minutes into the game.
Portsmouth responded with a try when their scrum-half Tom Brooks scored 28 minutes into the game. The teams were level at 7-7.
Wandile Lupuwana, a Graeme hooker, scored a try which put his side ahead, 12-7. Portsmouth clawed their way back via a penalty which put the score at 17-10 after the home side scored another try by Lee Maphaleng.
Both Nunn and Maphaleng scored one try to cap their day with a brace for themselves. At the final whistle, Graeme were victorious.
Portsmouth was scheduled to travel to Port Elizabeth where they were expected to play a number of matches.
