The officers were on their way to work when they came across a white Mazda 323 being pushed by the two men. Two young women, who were not detained, were seated in the car as well.
The suspects stated that the car had a flat battery when the officers made enquiries.
The officers checked the ownership of the vehicle, establishing that it had been reported stolen in King William's Town on Monday.
Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects was sought on several other charges, including murder and assault in King William's Town.
Both men will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate’s Court on charges of suspected stolen property soon.
