This past weekend, the St Andrew’s Prep Rugby Club played their final rugby fixtures of the 2024 season against Woodridge.

It was a fitting way to close out our season, with all seven of our rugby teams involved in the fixture, said a statement from the school.

Fairlawn was abuzz with nearly 180 rugby boys and coaches all contributing to an exciting day of rugby.

The matches were played in fantastic spirit, with the Prep boys getting off to a cracking start.

“Our U9A team overcame a spirited Woodridge team to finish the season with an unbeaten record! Kudos also to the Prep B and C teams for ending the season on high notes with solid performances against Woodridge.”

The match of the morning was undoubtedly the U11A game, where the Prep boys made an incredible comeback from a 21-10 deficit at halftime to secure a 29-21 victory with 19 unanswered points in the second half. This was a fitting way to end their season, making their coaches and parents immensely proud.

The U13As faced a tough fixture, and while the score didn’t reflect their effort, their performance was commendable. They had possession and territory for large portions of the match, giving their all on attack and making fantastic defensive tackles against physically larger opponents.

“A big thank you to all the Prep coaches for their effort and enthusiasm this season and for everything they put into developing the boys. The parents’ support this season was also fantastic and made a big difference to the mood and enthusiasm of our Prep boys. Well done to all,” read the statement.

    The results were as follows:

    U9B won 60-12

    U9A won 60-0

    U11B won 27-10

    U11A won 29-21

    U13C won 50-5

    U13Bs lost 26-0

    U13As lost 47-0
