Port Alfred is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places where anyone can unwind and enjoy activities without worries. One such place that offers gorgeous scenery and guarantees special guest treatment is Halyards Hotel & Spa. The company has been operating for a long time and is well known. The business provides tranquil riverside accommodation. It also offers activities such as boat cruises and Spa treatments. It also features a bar, pool deck, and a gorgeous sight of the marina.

One of their traditions is to offer lunch specials; every Sunday, they have a buffet special, which provides discounts for pensioners**.

The past weekend, on 11 February, The Halyards Hotel and Spa held a four-course Valentine’s buffet at R250 per person. During the warm afternoon, children played by the poolside while the adults enjoyed their lunch with spectacular river views and good conversation.

As a start, guests were welcomed with a complimentary drink, shortly followed by a light starter of cream of mushroom soup with homemade bread. Then, they were given various types of food, ranging from cold meat to seafood platters. The vast array of food was sure to leave the guests satisfied, and of course, there was room for a delicious dessert of their choosing.

Speaking to Grocott’s Mail, Shawn Smith, who attended Valentine’s lunch with his wife, shared his views about the place. ”This a nice place to be, the food is nice, and the place is a good environment to be”.

Gabbi Smith came to the Valentine’s lunch with her husband and said, ”I love the experience. The food here is lovely; they also have a lovely atmosphere and location. It is just an amazing place”.

Sisipho Didoti attended the buffet with her friends and said,  ”My friend invited us here for lunch since it has been a long time without seeing each other”. She continued to say, ”The food here is delicious and affordable. The sight is just beautiful to watch”.

Sammy David came with his wife and child to the buffet lunch. He said, ”My wife suggested that we come here. And it is a good day to relax after coming from church”. He continued to say, ”This a comfortable place to be; the kid’s pool and even the location are safe. I am enjoying myself”.
