Checkers has introduced a new way of shopping for its clientele. On Wednesday, 3 August, Checkers introduced the Sixty60 service in Makhanda.

Checkers Sixty60 is a delivery app exclusive to Checkers in South Africa. By using the app, customers have the luxury of getting their groceries delivered to their doorstep in 60 minutes.

“Checkers Sixty60 is an upmarket way of shopping for groceries,” said a Checkers staff member. “The service was only available in cities and reputable towns, but it is now being phased in in Makhanda. By looking at the customer base, we saw a need for this way of shopping”. He said the app’s availability would also combat long queues at the supermarket and make shopping more convenient.

The Checkers Sixty60 app is accessible through mobile devices; upon downloading, customers select their desired items and proceed to confirm their payment. Designated staff at Checkers consistently ensures that packages remain sealed and intact as per customers’ expectations and satisfaction.

Although it has only been two days since Checkers launched the app, it has been operating efficiently and rapidly as the clientele seems keen on its arrival. To add, customers find it relatively easy to use and advantageous.

Currently, Checkers Sixty60 is only available in select areas around town. However, there is hope for extending services throughout the city shortly. On a lighter note, introducing the service presented an opportunity for employment among Makhandan citizens.
