    LETTER: Please support Food4Futures

    Dear residents of Makhanda Grahamstown,

We are overwhelmed with the kindness of so many of you in bringing shoes, clothes and bedding to Food4Futures. We don’t know who some of the gifts come from, so if you haven’t received a thank you from us, please know that we are very grateful for your generosity. You can be assured that every bit of the clothing etc., is happily received by the recipients.

The same goes for the donations into our bank account. Some are from people we don’t know how to thank, but we are nevertheless grateful to receive them, and they all help to get food out to people who don’t have an income.

Food4Futures can serve the community because of the financial commitment of people mainly from this town, which illustrates the caring community we live in.

Despite the current faithful donors who continue to support us, the need is great, and we cannot keep up with our costs.

According to a recent report from the University of Cape Town, 76% of children and 67% of adults live in poverty in the Eastern Cape, and we are seeing more and more people who need help with food.

If you feel inspired to help us financially, in small or large amounts, you would be helping to alleviate the hunger in our town.
