Alice Cronje tree af na 34 jare

Ons groet vandag met ‘n swaar hart ‘n PJ-legende.

Om vir meer as 34 jaar betrokke te wees by die skool is voorwaar ‘n mylpaal. Alice Klopper het by Kleuterland kom werk en op Manie Cronjé, PJ-Onderwyser, verlief geraak. Sy het later as Mev. Cronjé by Hoërskool PJ Olivier aangesluit as sekretaresse en hiér het sy vir 21 jaar getrou haar diens gelewer.

Sy hanteer die oudskoliere, personeelfonds, Klub 100, reël die reunies en is by alles wat die skool reël betrokke. Sy is geken as Manie se regterhand en almal se hulp. Altyd bereid om te help, ʼn hand by te sit, raad te gee en te organiseer. Sy ken die oudskoliere so goed dat hulle almal dink sy was saam met hulle in die klas!

Alice se administratiewe vaardighede is buitegewoon – die finansiële boeke, notules, edlappe, personeellêers en al die duisende eposse na oudskoliere getuig van die noukeurige werk wat sy doen. Alles op sy plek, krap net in haar laai en jy sien alles is mooi gelabel, ge-colourcode presies op hulle plek. O’wee as jy met iets wegloop – sy kry hom weer want jy voel skuldig en gaan sit dit terug!. As die nood hoog is kan jy op haar nommer druk en kom help sy.

Ondersteun en hulp by Atletiekbyeenkomste, langs rugbyvelde, skietbane, Frans Erasmus, Pretdraf, danse, konserte, basaars en nog vele meer. Alice se hand kan jy sien van tafels dek tot laat nagte skottelgoed was na ʼn funksie. Dit was vir my ʼn voorreg om saam met jou te kon werk, Alice.

Alice ons kan nie vandag genoeg dankie sê nie en die geskenk wat ons gee kan nooit vergoed vir die duisende ure wat jy van jou lewe gegee het vir PJ Olivier nie. Jou stil, getroue noukeurige en besonderse werkswyse sal ons almal mis, die saamlag en peusel in die kantoor sal nie dieselfde wees sonder jou nie.

Ons gun jou vir Manie, Christo, De Wet en die familie en kleinkinders. Ons wens jou goeie gesondheid en baie tyd saam met jou geliefdes. Mag die Here jou seën, Alice.
