The imbongi is giving the pandemic the name which is strange. The name which is more than HIV/Aids and other diseases or illnesses. The direct translation is “grudging the people” Hail! Grudger of people. Masivukeni!

Maxhalanga ndikhahlele kuni,
Zidwesha zezwe lakowethu ndidlul’is’iizandl’entloko kuni
Zinxiba mhlaka nani nifundisiweyo
Zithwala ndwe nani nivelelwe,
Ndithi kubi kuxakaxa kuyinkxukuxaka,
Ngenxa yesi silo singena ntloko namsila.
Silondin’esingaziwa siqu esihamba ngomoya..

Ah! Zond’uluntu! Zonduluntu!
Izolo nezol’elinye ububabazwa phesheya kweelwandle
Kwasa , kwasa kwathiwa naku sele uwelile
Waza kuthi gaxa kwelakowethu eAfrika,
Kunamhlanje ngezwi nje lomlomo
Sonke sinezigquma buso
Sonke sihlamb’izandla siqab’izintantazi.

Ah! Zonduluntu! Zonduluntu
Nyokandin’ehamb’irhubuluza
Yarhubuluza nakwi thaf’elimnyama
Iphuma kumathaf’emiban’ekhanyay’igqugqisa
Ugqogq’egqugqis’esakh’umkhosi weenkedama
Ntw’inye ome ngayo, ucoceko uyachasela
Uye kutshonela kwelo lingaziwayo

Zondulunt’ungumbulali!
Suke wodlula iingculazi nomalal’veva,

Hamba khorona siyakuchila siyakuvuthulula
Sipheth’umhlonyan’ilamoni, orenji nejayina
Tsi!indlw’emnyama izakoyisa ndiyakufungisa,
Gxebe neziny’izizwe zase luhlangeni zinathi
Ukulwanawe sipheth’amagqirh’amakholwa namagqwirha.
Ndiyekeni ndime ndingathethi. Kalokumna mbongi ndibekelwe oko
