    Palimpsest by Illka Louw
Palimpsest invites the audience to experience layers and traces of the designer’s presence on paper, in a model, in the movement of materials on stage and finally, the manner in which a production leaves the audience’s spirit; enriched and hopefully inspired. palimpsest noun [C] uk /ˈpæl.ɪm.sest/ /ˈpæl.ɪmp.sest/
    * a very old text or document in which writing has been removed and covered or replaced by new writing              * something such as a work of art that has many levels of meaning, types of style, etc. that build on each other:
“As a theatre designer, my love for the materials of my art has played a large part in the shaping of my creative and professional life. It has informed the way I  make theatre and is the inspiration for this design-led theatrical installation”.

    THE ORCHESTRA PIT
    Light, Dark, Sound, Silence
…texts cloistered in the pregnant belly of the orchestra pit are coming to life…the darkness grasps at voices, embraces sounds…stories reflect / remember, forget … (2018 Hons Writing Students read selections of their work, accompanied by musical selections. With: Upile Bongco, Rafé Green, Meghan Harris and Jordan Pitt)

yourself, whether this is at work or in a partnership.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.  And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds.
